Review: This is a tiny school - very selective re intake. However, they have very low expectations of children, communication with parents is appalling and the school takes any form of constructive criticism as an attack. The office staff also assume every child is autistic, even if this has been ruled out - despite the fact that their offering is for “children with dyslexia and associated difficulties”.
The school population travel for up to an hour in all directions to get to school, so there is no sense of community. Parents have no idea what is going on, what is being covered at school or how their children are doing as school reports are all in code and a PowerPoint is required to decode it.
The grounds are tiny and the school is poorly resourced. Most kids are funded by ehcps but it’s also possible to pay fees.
If there was a closer option, I would not have opted for this school - it’s a real second best rather than best but my child is happy - but will end up needing to retake GCSEs elsewhere due to very poor academic standards.
It is great for therapy but not so great academically. Would not suit PDA kids at all, but suits easy going kids with social communication needs and dyslexia. However, I find the chaotic organisation, lack of communication and lack of resources to be extremely annoying. Report Content
