          Review: My daughter is now in Year 9 and I have had to pursue an EHCP on my own as the school refused to help me - which I now know to be "illegal"

Each time I try to explain her behaviour at home being a direct reflection of her day at school, I'm met with the response that "she seems fine at school". I don't believe they understand the concept of masking and yet it's the major issue that females have with ASD.

I realise I have an ulterior motive to understand as much as I do of ASD, which is building over time of course as I have an investment in learning more, but then so does the SEND officer surely?! The SEND officer has changed since the first year my daughter attended and the support was much better that year, however the new SEND officer doesn't seem to have the same understanding and / or commitment the first one did.

I was happy for my child to go here based on friend's children going before, and I know of other children that are content here. It just hasn't been the right move for us.

Please look into your schools in great depth of SEND support if that's what your child needs... I clearly did not :(
