The LA refused to access initially even though my child had a diagnosis and both the school and I were saying he needed extra support. It took a year for us to gather more evidence and then finally an EHCP was agreed, this was only because my son was forced to fail in that time. It is now clear the criteria of EHCPs are being changed and we will now fight for my son to attend a Sen school even though he has an EHCP in place.
