Poor Overall Rating: 1 Review: It took me 8 years to gather evidence strong enough to get to the point where we could even try to gain an EHCP. Then when we did it was made harder as there was no assistance along the way. I had to Google everything and wait five or more days for an answer.

I applied for the EHCP myself as the school had forgotten due to COVID delays.

One member seemed to try her best to get back to me but seemed inundated with work load and unable to respond quickly.

They refused to assess even though she had a huge hsitory of sending needs. Then we went through charles mediation. Summer holidays delayed the Educational psychologist coming in to support as they had refused to assess and asked for an EP to come in.

It took a year and one month to get her into a school placement. The EHCP was bot detailed enough for the chair to make a decision so I had a meeting with her to discuss further. On e she'd spoken to the Senco at the school and realised that there were many more needs than that if the EHCP she turned the decision around.

My daughter had been out of school for 4 months.

My daughter will be 15 this year and she has only just gotten her school career back. It's lucky she sapsirstional and does a lot at home because she hopefully won't have to catch up too much.

She has faced such trauma and it was never needed. I had to quit my job to work from to focus on this.

It ruins lives and affects futures for our children.

The government need to step up and help local authorities because we are in a crisis. Report Content

We were regularly lied to. Communication was poor.
On a meeting with the leader we were made to feel as though we were criminals for asking for a special school for my child. My child’s Ehcp was issued in December saying they needed one to one but the school immediately said they couldn’t give this. My child couldn’t access the school as there was no one to one care. They were home for 6 months with no schooling. The sen leader told me this was acceptable as he had a place in mainstream school. He also told me “I will
Categorically never change my mind about your child attending specialist provision.” But then strangely overnight he suddenly did. We have never been given an honest answer about why this is but I suspect it is because we initiated an appeal via tribunal.
Our family were put through an unnecessary amount of trauma, my child lost 6 months of schooling and became depressed. We were spoken to in such an uncaring and unkind manor, as if we were just out for money. Which made no sense.
Major improvements are needed and changes in attitudes. I am so sad to o think that parents will still be experiencing these same people. Report Content
