It took a long time to get an ehcp. It was then not followed properly. Then it wasnt updated between year 6 to year 9. Since then it has been updated but child has no suitable placement for education. Now attending 2 hours a week at the mainstream school was previously excluded from even though the school days cannot meet needs and have proven to be unable to keep my child safe and are concerned about safety of others around my child. My child has received practically no education for years from the local authority. I've made formal complaints and even asked the mp to help us. We did a review to send the EHCP to 3 specialist schools (I was told they didn't know which ones had spaces and I should look for schools) I found one school which they said was too far away. It was an autism specialist school. The school said it had space when we looked around but the LA took so long to send that the space went. The LA made it clear the closest and cheapest school was the priority over the most suitable school due to funding problems. My child had the review dated here which was then meant to lead to 3 schools receiving ehcp. One was a mainstream picked by child (which was unsuitable but child's choice) 2nd la picked already knowing it didn't have a space and 3rd I picked and they said they didn't have a space. (it wasn't sent to any straight after the review though it took a while) now waiting to go through the process again of sending to 3 schools. My child has been out of school for the majority of this school year. Now will need to be put back a year for any chance of passing any gcses. Often can't get hold of LA. School say the same thing. They even said they think the LA staff have fallen out with them. Report Content
