Review Reporting on:

Leigh Primary School

Review
Leigh primary school had a send policy which was left out of date for a number of months recently whistle blowing policy’s and other policy’s to ring fences the school were replaced first.
Although we have now a well written policy without a send report so no information of children on send register or with EHCP’s or available in we have a higher than area percentage locally. The children with EHCP’s who take a priority are staff children who school will apply for and parents who challenge or apply as parents for EHCP’s are isolated as are the children of these parents.
The school uses sanctions for behaviour and children are intimidated by senior members of staff.
The school uses tactics of referring to as in order to scare parents into advocating for their children without voices.
Safeguarding risk assessments measures are left in the hands of PTA members who school promote and allow to sell unethical plastic products for profits and gain. The school is in an improvement plan and cares only what it looks like and is due to be ofsted We are not given parent feedback information or send feedback information despite filling in forms and being promised feedback .
Parents of send children are not given a voice at Leigh Primary School if you have children with ASD traits they do not have an inclusive approach and can not cater to individual needs.
Communication lines are blocked and made very difficult in Leigh for some parents.
Defective behaviours are used and issues of send are blamed on parenting. Leigh Primary school has a long way to go in working with send children and parents.
