Wrekin View Primary School
Review
Poor sen help have too many children apparently with sen so parents have to do majority themselves as senco not helpful no messages are passed to new teachers or headmaster I have been fighting since my son was in nursery for help finally managed a referral from them last August going into year 4 and have had to fight the school for help with input from la and pods my son wouldn't attend school and has starting showing violence only this has achieved a response from the headmaster and put things into place for him I even tried moving him but the other school said he was too severe however wrekin view didn't think there was anything wrong with him until this and in the meeting with the head and the senco the head said he wasn't told that my son had all these issues to which the senco said well there alot worse than him and we have to prioritise don't have the staff or money for everyone they did have a nurture group and another place for the children that suffered mentally or physically but this had to go as not enough money for staff my son is going into year 5 and I am dreading it as the older they get the help seems to get less and less ta,s are only available in the lower classes the teachers don't seem yo have any training in special needs areas I have 2 autistic children already so convinced my 9 year is too and they have agreed his needs are different to other children after all these years but can't see much changing as the senco isn't involved enough just passes the book to other members of staff to deal with after having many different senior with my other 2 which were brilliant I can really see the problems with wrekin views senco and needs a major uphaul at this school for the sen kids to give them a chance after primary
