Review Reporting on:

Heath Farm Preparatory School

Review
cons-Don't follow EHCP care plans.
Happy for children to not have an EHCP care plan
HAPPY FOR CHILDREN TO SIT AT HOME FOR A YEAR WITH VERY LIMITED SUPPORT
ethos-resilience with children who have very complex severe needs.
TERMINOLGY USED not often appropriate to ASD families in meetings,
Pretty much point scoring
couldnt be Trusted
Don't allow parents to speak at EHCP annual reviews
Very contolling senior Management
little knowledge of annual review procedures
Dyslexia equipment is classed as clutter by Head teacher.
Try to remove provisions in EHCP
Gas light/parent blaming
documents of meetings inaccurate.
Keen to report parents to social care even in small misunderstandings.
Very expensive placement
look at you as if you are talking French when you mention EHCP provisions.
Don't listen to parents regarding their children.
Curriculum Programmes not necessarily suitable to neurodivergent children
their termly SOLAR tracking is too complicated for parents and their famiies to follow, doesn't tell me whether my hid is independant in a task or not.
No understanding of how bespoke/EOTAS works ie supporting parent with personal budgets etc whilst child at home non attending.
School PEO does not investigate EHCP provisions.
FOOD is not great-child said.
holiday activity vouchers not received in time or too late to book!
TEP'S plan are long term part time timetables going against DFE guidance.
FAMILIES DO NOT GET FOOD VOUCHERS IN HOLIDAYS AS INDEPENDANT SCHOOL
WON'T ALWAYS REPY TO COMPLAINTS
staff need more sen training in asd, adhd, pda etc...the deeper realms, as often things were said where they should of understood that it's part of childs trait disability.
front line classroom staff not in EHCP annual review meetings, where they should be.
no appropriate speech and language and OT therapy as soon as chid attends school, they question whether child requires it when it is clearly stated in EHCP
Frontline staff don't have access to EHCP, if do they flick through it!
Pros- SOME Lovely frontline staff who care about the children
Termly assemblies for certificate and trophy awards is nice.
Nice surroundings
Lots of trips out in community
some very well behaved children for a behavioural school would say better then some children
in mainstream.
cooking facilities for children
Organisation in drop off/pick up is very good to keep children safe
Dealing with distressed children has been dealt with in a good way
has a newsletter, and better then other schools for online communication regarding events etc
Didn't experience automatic exclusion, makes a change from some schools we've been too.
